October Recap Part 1

I have totallay been slacking on blogging. (My Aunt Bev has been bothering me to blog, so here you go, better late than never...my October recap Part 1!)

Fall is by far my favorite season of the year! The leaves are changing, the weather is cooling off, and its football season.
  • At the beginning of the month I worked from home for the week. The weather was great and I was so happy to be in the city. I was able to go grocery shopping which is always fun to do when I am home for the week but actually quite a production in the city. That week I realized that I was getting a little tired from all of the traveling and just happy to be home. During the week there was still a possibility that the Cubs and White Sox could be in the world series; however, we know that didnt work out.
  • "Meet the Laneys" - On Saturday the 4th I took an early flight to ATL to meet Garry's parents. We went out to dinner at Two Urban Licks and then went to watch some of the college football games at Taco Mac. We went out to breakfast with them the next morning (already my mom was a little jeleous that his parents got two meals and mine had one.) It was a pretty relaxing weekend and nice to meet them.
  • Somewhere over the rainbow... There was a rainbow on the way to work one morning, so I thought I would take a few pictures. My mom always told me growing up that when you see a rainbow, it is a rememberance from God that there will never be a flood again. Genesis: 12 - 15: And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.

  • Red wings opening night! It is that time of year again. The Redwings had thier first home opener. They were facing off the Toronto MapleLeads but unfortunaly lost 3 - 2.

  • Bank of America Chicago Marathon - I flew back to Chicago just in time for the marathon. One of our friends Chuck was running and we all had teeshirts made for chuckk that had his pciture on the front and on the back we had "Go Chuck Go" Of course, Chuch threw a marathon party at Durkins.

  • Holden Beach, North Carolina - The following week I flew to Atlanta and worked remotly and then went to Garry's family's beachouse in North Carolina. It was very realaxibg. We went to a couple of seafood restaurants, played boared games and caught up on 24. It was a little cold and rainy but nice for deserved and over due relaxing weekend.
