Good Bye Jeep:-(

It was a sad day on Friday (9/12). I finally had to turn my Jeep in so now I am officially car-less. I leased the car in June 2006 and was finally excited to get rid of the Alero which I had through college and pretty much everything went wrong with that car. So in March of 2007 I moved to Chicago and no longer really needed the car since my current form of transportation in the city is cabs, buses, trains, and planes.

Since I was working in Detroit the week of 9/8 I decided to take one last road trip in my jeep. One last time of filling up the tank $64.71.

I drove from Detroit to Lansing to pick up Steph and then we drove to Chicago. I turned my jeep in on Friday and it was a little sad; however, having the extra money is not going to be so sad! We finally got back to Chicago around 10PM and it took us about 20 - 25 minutes to find a parking space, so I remember why I didn't have a car in the city.
So Friday we drove to the dealership and turned int he car (27 months and 31,000 miles later). Due to Stephanie worried that we were going to run out of gas I put $5 in the car. Turning it in was a quick process and I even get to pay Chrysler of "Return Fee" of $484, isn't that nice. So as we turned it in, we went out into the rain to find the nearest bus and headed home using the lovely Chicago public transportation.

Oh and for my birthday this year I don't have to pay the State of Michigan anything for owning a vehicle. Woo hoo. I can finally get myself a real present instead of plates (although I really only started paying for my plates 2 years ago - thanks to the Bank of Mom and Dad". Which speaking of, my mom said she was also glad that I don't have a car b/c she no longer has to pay the insurance on my car. I have a feeling when I get another car (if ever) then I will have to pay my own insurance, being an adult and all.
One last hug!
Bye!

And now its official, Bus #76 heading home.
